7th MAY 2002
Congratulations to the Under 16B team who won the Supplementry Cup Final on Bank Holiday Monday.
Celtic’s Under 16B side carried on where the A team left off on Monday (6th
May) when they beat Omonia’s Under 16B’s 6-2 in the Harrow Youth League
Supplementary Cup Final. Although a goal down at half time Celtic finished
the first half strongly and hit the bar shortly before half time. The second
half started well for Celtic and they were level after 30 seconds with a
coolly taken goal by Graham Warner. Three minutes later Graham knocked in a
second before Omonia were reduced to ten men after having a man sent off for
violent conduct. Only eight minutes into the half Celtic went a further goal
up after another Omonia player was sent off for tipping a goal-bound shot
over the bar. Daniel Church calmly slotted away the resultant penalty. The
difference in numbers soon started to tell and Celtic went further ahead
through goals by Ryan Watson and Chris Dennis before Omonia were awarded a
penalty. This was converted to make the score 5-2 before Celtic were given
another penalty which was driven home by Rob Parillon to make the final
score 6-2. Omonia had a third player sent off late in the game for a second
bookable offence and their indiscipline cost them any chance of making a
recovery.

Celtic FC under 16A League Cup Final
Celtic gained swift revenge over Omonia A in the U16 Cup Final at Ruislip ManorFC by winning 3-1. Celtic opened with an individual goal by Nathaniel Griffths. Omonia equalised with a headed goal 15 minutes before half time. In the 2nd half Celtic Dominated the play and got their just revenge with a goal by Daniel Lukeman in 89 mins and Liam Redican sealed the victory with the 3rd which completely demolished a very good Omonia side.
This keeps Celtics hopes of the double on course.
Celtic's Under 16 'B' Squad followed on where the 'A' squad left off on
Sunday when they convincingly beat St Andrews 4-2 to reach the Harrow Youth
League Supplementary Cup Final. Two goals from Sharif Abdulle, one from Ryan
Watson and a penalty by Daniel Church took Celtic through to the final and
also made them the first division one side to beat St Andrews this season.
This result followed a playoff victory the previous Thursday when Celtic
beat Parkfield 5-2 to reach the semi-final. Goals on that occasion came from
Ryan Watson(2), Graham Warner(2) and Darren Snooks. The final kicks off on
Monday 6th May (May Day bank holiday) at 11:45 am.
